My installation explores an American myth of a national belief system related to perceptions that we are the envy of the world. The strands of paint represent a national consciousness where ideas, thoughts or actions are dangled in an open corridor. Corridors present an interesting dilemma in which there are two possible entrances and two possible exits. A viewer may enter with a certain belief and exit out the same way, or perhaps upon reflection, exit out another way with a new belief
