Parabolic Views, 2017
30’ x 11’, Kevlar thread, copper cable, various yarns and strings, wood, nails, paint and video tape.
Using only straight lines, circular fissures open new views of an inner and outer world.
This installation consisted of 18 - 45” x 45”windows which were installed in the foyer of the Western Gallery. It accompanied the Coded Threads Exhibition (9/27 – 12/3) which highlighted textiles and technology. It mixes traditional IKAT techniques with geometry. The project was a collaboration between Ms. Cheesman and the Curator, Seiko Purdue.
